Every Mohawk Has It’s Orgin

It all started when I received a cool pen as a gift one year. This was a fun pen that was made from aluminum and had multi tools integrated into its construction.  Not only was it a pen, but it was also a stylus, a screwdriver, a flashlight, a level, and a ruler. This was the Godzilla of pens, or so I thought.  After only a few weeks of use things began to go wrong. The light grew dim and eventually stopped working. There was no option to replace the battery so that it would work again. Next the stylus began to wear, and pieces of rubber were tearing off.  I stopped using the stylus to avoid scratching the screen with the newly exposed metal.  Well at least the pen still worked as a pen. . . not.  As I would write with it the ink cartridge wouldn’t remain fully extended, it would slowly push back up into the body of the pen causing immense frustration. Finally, I sat down with one of my cheap disposable pens and drew out plans to make the perfect pen. This would soon be known as the Turn Style brass pen.

When it came time to decide on the material to make the Turn Style out of, aesthetics were important.  Brass was selected because of its tasteful appearance and pleasant aged patina it acquires over time.  Brass was also a great selection for its antimicrobial properties.  Now when sharing your pen with others you won’t have to be too worried about sharing their cooties.  Having a pen that will naturally fight off bacteria is a useful tool in and of itself.
